Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Michigan On Demand ("we," "us," or "the app") helps Michigan residents find community resources such as food assistance, housing, jobs, training, and emergency services. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Browsing without an account
You can browse and search every resource in Michigan On Demand without creating an account and without providing any personal information. We do not require sign-up to access community resources.
3. Optional accounts
Creating an account is optional. It's needed to save favorites, manage notification preferences, propose a resource, post a job opening, apply to a job, or set up a candidate or employer profile. An account requires an email address, which we use to let you sign in and to send account-related notifications you've opted into. If you apply to a job posted by another resident, the details you provide — your name, email, phone number, cover letter, and CV — are shared with that job's poster so they can review your application; if you post a job, your employer profile (name and logo) is shown publicly on that listing. We do not sell this information.
4. Location
We do not store your precise location. If you allow location access on your device, it is used locally to show nearby resources and is not retained on our servers.
5. Usage analytics
To understand which resources and features are actually useful — and to keep listings accurate and up to date — we collect anonymous, aggregate usage data such as which resource categories are viewed and which searches are performed. This data is not linked to your identity and is used only to improve the service.
6. Resource reports
If you report a resource as outdated or incorrect, we use the information you provide only to review and correct that listing.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share account information with third parties except as required to operate the service (such as our hosting and email infrastructure providers) or as required by law.
8. Cookies & local storage
This website uses a single functional cookie to remember your chosen language across visits — nothing more. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and this cookie is not used to identify you or build a profile.
9. Children's privacy
Michigan On Demand is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Your choices
You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app. You can also stop using the app at any time without providing a reason.
